The line features shoes for both men (sneakers) and women (ballerina flats), and have been designed by Frida Giannini, the company’s creative director. So what makes the shoes green? The shoes will be available online and in Gucci stores around the world.

Phillips’ award-winning light bulb on sale this Sunday

Phillips LED bulbWe’ve all heard about how the right light bulb can slash our power bills and energy use. It looks like the right light bulb is finally here. This bulb created by Phillips won the L Prize, a contest launched by the U.S. Congress in 2007 to replace the standard “incandescent” 60-watt bulb. The light bulb is definitely energy-efficient, using only 10 watts and has a lifespan of 30,000 hours or 20 years when used for four hours a day. It also doesn’t contain any mercury vapors unlike CFLs, and it emits a warmer, natural-looking light. The catch? Oh, the $60 price tag. Fortunately, Phillips is looking for ways to bring the price down. Still, I’m sure there are people out there who’d willingly fork over $60 to give the bulb a try, if it means never having to change light bulbs for a long time and being able to save money.

H&M unveils its collection of eco-friendly dresses

It’s definitely a great way to take the concept of eco-friendly fashion even further, showing all of us that it’s not only shirts, tops, and pants that can be green.

Up, Up and UpChuck comes out with eco-friendly airsickness bags

First of all, the name is hilarious. Second, the concept is interesting. Airsickness bags are a fixture in every seat pocket in front of your own airline seat, and a company called Up, Up, and Upchuck is looking to revolutionize them by coming out with eco-friendly canvas bags to replace the usual paper bags. The catch? The bags are dry clean only. It would be nice if they came out with bags you can easily wash at home or in the airport restrooms, since I doubt anybody would be willing to travel with a bag full of sick or rush to the dry cleaners right away after a flight.
