Why not “Freecycle”?

Ever tried Freecycle?

This has got to be one of the best ideas out there. You look for the local Freecycle group in your area and join. Then you start posting away. In our area, every time you post, you have to indicate whether it’s WANTED, OFFER, PROMISED or TAKEN. So far, we have “freecycled” a Dell printer and a stationary bike. It’s a great way of finding new homes for your old stuff. At the same time, you can provide a new home for other people’s old stuff. It reduces waste and keeps old things in circulation.

Their mission statement?

“Our mission is to build a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources & eases the burden on our landfills while enabling our members to benefit from the strength of a larger community.”

Not a bad idea at all.
