Ordering items online and getting them delivered at home seems an eco-friendly way to shop. Sometimes though, my good intentions go awry when I see the packing peanuts used in shipping the items I ordered.
Perhaps companies can have a “take back the peanuts” type of program, so they can reuse them. Better yet, they should use recycled packing peanuts right from the start. I also read somewhere that there are packing peanuts made of vegetable and organic matter, even cornstarch peanuts. As for us consumers, we can always drop off the extra peanuts in our local packing, shipping and/or moving stores. Hopefully, they accept these.
