I really wanted this bag for myself when I first saw it a few months ago. It’s cute, it’s cheap, and it sends out a strong message.
Unfortunately, despite its good intentions, it’s been experiencing some backlash recently due to the fact that it’s become more of a fashion statement and a way for people to cash in on it. Because it retails for only $5 and isn’t being sold by the thousands, some of the people who bought the bag just did so in order to resell them or put them up for auction, which is sure to help them make a lot of money, judging from the number of people who totally, absolutely must have this bag.
Even the quote on the bag wasn’t spared, with people even hurling criticisms at it for being self-righteous and for simply making it trendy to be concerned about the environment. Despite all that, I still like this bag a lot, and I’m sure it was simply created with the best of intentions. And regardless of whether or not it’s trendy, it’s still bound to make some people think about the environment more seriously.
