A few months ago, I discovered G Car Motors, a small company manufacturing electric cars. They have several models out right now and they’re mostly small, colorful things, as you can see in the picture. They also offer motorbikes, which runs on batteries and by pedaling.
It’s great that someone in the Philippines is actually thinking of producing vehicles that wouldn’t use gas, but I have to admit that so far, the vehicles aren’t totally perfect yet. For one thing, you would still need to charge the batteries with power from the grid, and another thing is that they only go as fast as 40 km an hour (anybody know how to convert this value?). Any accessories and add-ons will also sap the vehicle of power and would therefore need a really high-powered battery.
Still, the idea’s a good one, and perhaps with a little extra tweaking and a lot of press, this might stand a chance.
