The United Nations’ 2-day debate on climate change started today. British billionaire Richard Branson offered to set up an “environmental war room” to help the UN address global warming. The General Assembly is trying to shape policy on climate change. The meeting is also intended to drum up support for UN-led negotiations to formulate a new climate treaty by next year, 2009.
